What is Celebrex
Celebrex... ya lah, that one. Aiyo, been seeing this med since early 2000s? Maybe 2001? Don’t ask me exact year lah, brain fog already. I remember the old shop, before we even got proper shelves, just those old plastic bins stacked high. No aircon, just one small fan turning like snail, making that creaky tuk tuk tuk sound. Hot like sauna, sweat drip until cannot see. Got one uncle, came in limping, ask, "Eh boy, got that cele-thing? My back like dying." Took me a second. "Ah, Celebrex you mean?" I pull out the box. He see the capsule, nod and say, "Yes yes, that blue-white one. My doctor give last time, but now I forget where I put." Happens all the time, lah.
What is Inside
What is in it? Celecoxib, lor. Fancy name, but just a type of NSAID. You know, the anti-inflammation kind. Not like Panadol, this one a bit stronger. Mostly people use for arthritis, like those stiff knees and swollen fingers. But must careful. Some auntie think more pill means more fast relief end up stomach pain like war. Always must eat with food, I keep telling. Don’t be clever.
Got Prescription or Not?
Here in Hong Kong, ah, can’t just buy like that. Need prescription, OK? I know some think pharmacy like supermarket, this one got rules. Doctor must write, paper must be valid. Some people show me blurry photo, can’t even see name. I squint so hard my eyeball want fall out. Sometimes I still give, if I trust the regular customer. But really, must be proper.
Online? Can Also.
These days everybody online lah. Don’t want queue, don’t want talk. Just click click and wait for bell to ring. Got some legit online pharmacy here like the ones that ask for your prescription, or got online doctor ask two question, then approve. I test one before, pretend customer. Delivery was ok. Box a bit dented but never mind lah. Pill still good.
Price Talk
Price? Hmm. Usually around HK$400 plus minus. Some sell cheaper if you buy 2-3 boxes together. Some charge more just because got fancy box or gold label waste money lah. I always tell people: check packaging, check expiry. Don’t be greedy and order from shady site later you open box, pill smell like rubber, then regret.
Who Buys Where
Depends where, you know. Like Mong Kok, so packed all the time. Got older folks, mostly. They like to come in person, hold the box, ask a lot of question. Some aunties bring whole bag of meds and say, "This can eat with Celebrex or not?" Then got Central people, fast one. Tie, coffee in hand, always on phone. They order online one. Don’t wanna talk, just deliver to office, done. In Kwun Tong? More family type. Got auntie order for grandma, or daughter helping father. Sha Tin folks a bit different. I don’t know why, but they double check everything. They take notes, read leaflet like exam. I respect lah, but also... can be slow, you know?
